Ranking by Video

Ranking by Video allows lifters the world over to submit a video to be judged by Chief Judge Nicholas Schodtler. We have an extraordinary record of lifters achieving CMS and above, but please be advised that we take our ranking system seriously and submissions will not be passed as a matter of course. Our exacting WKC standards are applied to all Rank video submissions, with consistency and integrity, so that a WKC Rank is to be respected and prized.

Rank video submission guidelines:

  • video recorded outside of a WKC® endorsed competition may be up to CMS.
  • video recorded at a WKC® endorsed competition may be up to HMS.
  • Your rank qualifies you to lift one level above your rank at WKC® competitions, attempting the next rank
  • The camera must face the lifter directly from the front.
  • The entire body must be visible, including the arm(s) when extended overhead
  • You do NOT need to verify weight of the kettlebell, or your own weight. WKC® trusts you.
  • Shorts should be worn that allow clear view of the knees
  • No music should be playing in the background
  • No other person should be within the shot of the video
  • Someone outside of the shot should provide a verbal count
  • Please limit all background noise
  • Please ensure your video is well lit

Fix-O-Meter guidelines:

  • Fix-O-Meter is not required for video rank attempts, but it can help ensure that your reps are counted.
  • The Fix-O-Meter screen must be on camera.
  • If the Fix-O-Meter is beeping and is not on camera, the beeps will not be considered by the judge

Explanation of Biathlon and LongCycle ranks:

  • HMS – Honored Master of Sport

    The highest rank attainable within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who accomplish this level of mastery are truly among the best of the best. They are the champions, the highest skilled, the most fit and quite possibly the record holders of the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • WCMS – World Class Master of Sport

    The rank of a seriously competitive lifter within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who reach this level can perform at the highest caliber meets of any kettlebell organization in the world. They have devoted a great amount of time and effort to the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • MS – Master of Sport

    The rank distinguishing a lifter as a highly skilled and proficient Kettlebell Sport athlete within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who attain this level are approaching a high competitive caliber. They have put in a large amount of study and practice in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • CMS – Candidate for Master of Sport

    The rank of a very well skilled and accomplished Kettlebell Sport athlete within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who obtain this distinction clearly have developed extensive knowledge and adeptness in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • Rank 1

    The rank of a well skilled Kettlebell Sport athlete within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who reach this milestone have good knowledge and capability in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • Rank 2

    The rank of a competent Kettlebell Sport athlete within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who reach this point show a specialized ability in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • Rank 3

    The rank of a moderately capable Kettlebell Sport athlete within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who reach this step are proving their commitment to perfecting the skills required in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.

  • Rank 4

    The beginners rank within World Kettlebell Club®. Lifters who reach this entry level position have learned what is required of them to begin their quest in the Sport of Kettlebell Lifting.
